At ISE 2017 yesterday, the Redmond giant announced a similar model for its Surface Hub. The device allows for a collaborative experience in workplaces via large, multi-touch screen. To date, over 2,000 customers use the tool. The move is reminiscent of a recent shift by organizations to subscription models. Microsoft quotes statistics from IDC, where 73% of respondents stated a move to such methods in the next three years. The Surface Hub subscription will include initial investment and configuration costs. It’s made possible by a collaboration with Maverick, and will be available in the UK and other markets.
Surface Hub Value Added Distributors Program for Opportunity Resellers
Alongside the new model, Microsoft will launch its VAD-OR program for Surface Hub. The method will “let select Surface Hub distributors deliver the same quality services to Opportunity Resellers without the typical requirements for building a long-term transactional business.” Maverick is the first partner in this regard. They will be joined by ALSO, one of Microsoft’s first Surface as a Service Partners. “Microsoft Surface Hub is a perfect solution for ALSO’s strategy to foster its position as a value added solution provider,” said Philipp Grüter, European Partner Manager, ALSO. “Partners are offered numerous complementary services from ALSO like logistics, trainings, installations, network integration or financial services to fulfill their customer needs. This solution presents the perfect opportunity for our resellers to win big projects without jeopardizing their liquidity and be a full solution provider for their customers.”
Surface Hub Try & Buy
Microsoft will re-launch another program with this new wave of purchases. Starting February 15th, organizations can try Surface Hubs for 30 days before committing to more devices.
