Microsoft 365 will continue to be the cloud-first bundle of Microsoft services such as Office, Windows, Defender, and more. At Ignite, Microsoft is highlighting a bunch of updates for apps within Microsoft 365 but is also debuting a new central hub for the package. As the recent Microsoft Work Trend Index highlights, managers and leaders still have “productivity paranoia” around hybrid workplaces. Rather than encourage a back-to-the-office policy, Microsoft prefers to give businesses the tools to feel more confident with workers who work remotely. At the Ignite conference, Microsoft says that customers save 60% by bundling the various services of Microsoft 365 instead of purchasing separate alternatives.
New App
With the new app, Microsoft continues to gather major Office apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook into a central location. Microsoft Teams is also available and an increasingly core part of the 365 experience. “It’s a secure, integrated, experience built on the Microsoft Graphthat brings together all your documents, files, contacts, meetings, and more—with intelligent, Graph[1]powered recommendations personalized for you,” Microsoft explains. Microsoft also discussed a new Windows 365 app for Windows 11. If you are unfamiliar, Microsoft introduced Windows 365 Cloud PC, a virtual version of the OS available in the cloud. Now, the Cloud PC is available directly from the task bar in Windows 11 or via the Start menu.
